This event was originally planned as the I Love America Fourth of July Celebration; however, heavy rains forced cancelling that event. The College Station Noon Lions Club started the Independence Day celebration in 1960 with about 200 people at the old A&M Consolidated High School stadium. The celebration has since been held annually at seven different locations over the last 61 years. In excess of 10,000 people are anticipated to attend this year’s ceremony over the course of the day.
Now, College Station Noon Lions is offering a free, family-friendly event in beautiful Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater.
