The College Station Noon Lions Club started the Independence Day celebration in 1960 with about 200 people at the old A&M Consolidated High School stadium. The celebration has since been held annually at seven different locations over the last 61 years. In excess of 10,000 people are anticipated to attend this year’s ceremony over the course of the day.

Schedule of Events – Saturday July 3, 2021
8:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Donation Drive in conjunction with the Salvation Army at the Bob and Wanda Senior and Community Center, 2275 Dartmouth St. (drive through, drop off). Drive through, drop off items requested: Toiletries, hygiene items, (e.g. shampoo, toothbrushes, soap, shower gel, toothpaste, deodorant), socks and diapers. 2:00 PM – 6:30 PM:
- Lions eye screening at the Lions Trailer near the plaza
- Food Trucks
- Free Watermelon
- Non-profit and vendor booths
- Kids Zone children’s games and art activities at Wolf Pen Creek Plaza
- All Aboard Train
- Static Displays
- Live Music
6:45 PM: Presentation of Colors, National Anthem and welcome by College Station Mayor Lion Karl Mooney and Bryan Mayor Andrew Nelson
7:00 PM: Movie “Miracle” at Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater
9:30 PM: Patriotic Laser Light Show “Dazzling Drama” at Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater
